Transtar Telescriber from Transcriptionstar is a cost effective system through which doctors can record their dictations with the help of telephones. It is a secure, easily accessible telecommunication based arrangement. Transtar Telescriber makes use of a telephone card that is installed in the computer. This card contains application programs that interface with Transtar Telescriber system. A telephone connection that can also allow incoming calls is required in Transtar Telescriber. This telephone connection is integrated with Transtar Server. Transtar Server maintains and stores a database of all information with regards to the doctor and their dictations.

Initially, the doctors or any other medical professionals register themselves with Transtar Telescriber through Transtar E- Transcribe. The details of the registration are forwarded from the Transtar Telescriber to Transtar Server. Upon receiving, the details, the Transtar Server generates a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and forwards it by mail to the doctor for activation of the account.

Upon completion of registration process, a doctor logs on to the server by dialing the allocated number. Once, logged in, a menu appears in the form of voice prompts which is heard at various stages of working with Transtar Telescriber. Instructions would be given as to what he/she may have to do. Telestar Telescriber also has functions that are doctor specific, that is, if particular doctor calls up then the functions related to that doctor can be shown.
