About Digital Transcription

Digital Transcription refers to the conversion of spoken words in digitally recorded form to text. Earlier all recordings were in non-digital forms like VHS and magnetic tapes. Now, digital storage devices like CDs, DVDs, Mini CDs etc. are making their presence felt. It is now possible to store immense amounts of data into a small disc of diameter 4.5”. The reading device kits, systems and equipments are also cheap enough for widespread use by general public.
Now, we see digital voice recorders which has the capacity to store an incredible 150 hours of audio content. Software support for such recording devices is also extremely helpful in transcribing of recordings, which assumes significance for business houses.
